Last night was the graduation and the rite of passage for the year sevens. It was a mass to farewell the year sevens and to thank them for being such great leaders over the last few years. This is a picture of all the year sevens with a booklet and a gift from the school. During the rite of passage their were many power points that showed pictures of the year sevens and the highlights of the year. Altogether it was a great evening.

EAT SO THEY CAN

Today we were payed a visit from Zoe Zapparoli. She is the ambassador for Eat So They Can Queensland. She started off by talking about how she got into the organisation and what she does to help the kids in Africa. Last year the charity raised $16,000 for the cause. Once the money was raised she and her partner than went to Africa for three weeks to help the Orphans. She explained to us how the kids over there have nothing. Most of the kids she met have no family. They only get one meal a day. Most of the time that is poridge. NOT what we have here. Over here we have luxury, we have food, we have family, shelter and we can go to the doctors if we get sick. Things which the people over there can only dream of having. Later on in the presentaion she showed us a video of the kids in Refugee Camps and the Orphans. They have nothing but they do have spirit. They were given a biscuit, they took a bite then wanted to share it with Zoe. The kids where cute. In there eyes you could see the glimer of hope which they have. For some of the children they had never seen white people. So as much as it was a expirence for Zoe and Paulie it was one for them as well. She taught us to be greatful for what we have. So next time you don't like your food, you may have a fight with someone in your family or you aren't liking school. Just remember the kids of Africa or any kids which aren't as luck as us.
